This two-day course offers an immersive and systematic deep dive into the art and science of tendon repair of the hand. Participants will begin with concise introductory lectures covering nomenclature, indications, and suture techniques. Each repair is then showcased in a live tutor demonstration, followed by hands-on cadaver dissection sessions where each participant table (max two-three surgeons) works directly under expert faculty guidance.
Thanks to collaboration with the Institute of Anatomy, dissections are performed on latex-injected, formalin-free specimens, offering enhanced tissue fidelity and a more realistic surgical experience.
The course emphasizes critical decision-making: which repair technique to choose, how to handle zone-specific challenges, what anatomical landmarks matter most, and how to avoid common surgical pitfalls. Faculty are present throughout to offer technical tips, answer questions, and facilitate case-based discussions.
By the end of the course, participants will gain procedural confidence in performing tendon repairs relevant to hand surgery, enriching their operative toolkit with immediately applicable knowledge and practical skills.
