Zurich Hand Courses
Master the art of tendon repair, suture techniques, and rehabilitation principles.
This two-day course offers an immersive and systematic deep dive into the art and science of tendon repair of the hand. Participants will begin with concise introductory lectures covering nomenclature, indications, and suture techniques. Each repair is then showcased in a live tutor demonstration, followed by hands-on cadaver dissection sessions where each participant table (max two-three surgeons) works directly under expert faculty guidance.
Thanks to collaboration with the Institute of Anatomy, dissections are performed on latex-injected, formalin-free specimens, offering enhanced tissue fidelity and a more realistic surgical experience.
The course emphasizes critical decision-making: which repair technique to choose, how to handle zone-specific challenges, what anatomical landmarks matter most, and how to avoid common surgical pitfalls. Faculty are present throughout to offer technical tips, answer questions, and facilitate case-based discussions.
By the end of the course, participants will gain procedural confidence in performing tendon repairs relevant to hand surgery, enriching their operative toolkit with immediately applicable knowledge and practical skills.
Join our intensive surgical training focused on modern tendon repair techniques of the hand. Through expert lectures, live demonstrations, and cadaver dissections, this course is designed for surgeons aiming to strengthen their understanding of tendon biology, refine repair techniques, and improve their surgical decision-making in the management of flexor and extensor tendon injuries.
Practice essential flexor and extensor tendon repair techniques on high-quality cadaver specimens under expert supervision, with step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on training at the dissection table.
The small group format ensures continuous faculty presence, allowing close guidance, discussion of surgical techniques, and practical advice throughout the hands-on sessions.
Learn reliable repair strategies, zone-specific considerations, and key principles of postoperative rehabilitation — immediately applicable to the management of tendon injuries in daily clinical practice.
